It was less than six minutes of action when Ricky the 'Hitman' Hatton decided to take a nap during the second round of the said 'Fight of the Year' (east versus west) last May 2, 2009. It was predicted by several boxing analysts that it will consume most of the rounds, probably in 10. But of course, eveyone were all in favor of Pacman. (They should be!) Yes, it was indeed Manny Pacquiao who dominated the first two rounds, sending Hatton down the canvass three times. The fast-as-lightning left-hook on the sweet chin was the dagger! Poor Ricky...

He's the MAN!

Floyd Sr. is definitely owned by the nice guy Roach! Who's talking too much now? Floyd Sr. and his big mouth didn't help his boy get the title from Pacman. Manny was right during the pre-fight conference when he said, "Less talk, less mistake!" HAHAHA! WHAT NOW FLOYD SENIOR?! No wonder he was shot decades ago.

Anyways, I am truly honored to dedicate this piece of art that I sketched yesterday to my idol, our national hero, the one and only pound for pound king, "ang Pambansang Kamao," the world's greatest.... Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao! Keep up the excellent work. Stay humble and faithful to God! Mabuhay ka!

I was inspired to make a sketch of an old woman smoking a pure rolled-tobacco leaves because it reminded me of the province of Ilocos. Known as "Tabako" here in the Philippines, or Cigars made from tobacco leaves, this stuff is one of the fascinating and indigenous products of the province. Just a piece of TRIVIA: Old women of Ilocos smokes a lot of tabako! (TRUE)...

The Wandering Ghost....

There were rumors about this Lady Ghost residing just inside the compound where we have this little apartment at present. Some of my friends, housemates, the caretaker etc told me that they saw this Lady wandering around the place, especially near the mango tree. According to my friend, Ryan aka Mr. Festival, he actually saw this ghost passing by the parking area while we were having our usual GranMa night. Same statement from a friend named Shawi gave me the chills when she told us out of nowhere that a woman just passed by a few meters from our door. She got up and came rushing towards the door to check on that thing, but it was a dog, a black one. Whew, creepy.

Anyways, I am very thankful that I didn't have the extra eye and the ability to see beyond normal things such as ghosts. Whhoooo... But I can definitely describe it through random sketches of course... Here's my own version of the Lady Ghost. Ryan, my housemate was a little bit pissed when I drew the sketch on our wall. It's a good vandal though... and scary. See for your self..

Bob's Music in the Morning...

My morning routine starts with a twenty-minute coffee break plus a stick of cigarette before getting down to serious (not really) business in my workstation. Every time I check my emails and other office stuff, part of my morning rituals is listening to my MP3s... I mean good music. And Bob Marley is my first choice for this kind of hour.

Early this morning, when boredom once again hit my head, I started MS painting again... I was making some random strokes while listening to Bob Marley's "Is This Love", until I realized I was actually sketching Bob himself... Here's the finished product! Check it out...

JOHN OLOPS... A Special Post

There was this guy named 'Jude' at the comment section in the Chayeecatures post who was kinda bitter... Actually he was complaining about this matter for a long time now. He's one of my closest friends, a best bud that is - we call him Olops, Jude or Oloks. I really wanted to make a caricature of him long before I had those caricatures posted last week. I admit, this is all my fault - not fulfilling a promise to a good friend is a crime.

So this time, the 'Word' was made mastercraft! You've been waiting for this my friend for so long... and I'm very happy I finished this piece finally...

Chayeecatures!

Caricatures... I really enjoyed this subject way back in college. I ranked it second to photography overall. This is the type of art that allows you to nurture your strokes and make fun of somebody (that's the best part about this stuff). I would prefer caricatures than real-life portraits, because realistic pieces of craps are boring, no offense. Although the shading, strokes and lighting - hands down - are extremely precise! In short, a duplicate of the actual subject.

Anyways, the caricatures plus the comic strips/comic book I created are piled in a dusty box back in our town. I'll post them maybe this coming Holy Week. So for now, here are some of the caricatures I made, basically using MS Paint since I don't wanna carry my drawing materials going to the office. This is what I usually do when I feel bored or sleepy...of course, when my task is done for the day. Hihi. Check them out...

... It's showtime! It was our team building in Pitogo Donsol, Sorsogon the next day, so this time around, I made it look kewl. It's a tribal Gemini type dragon... That's it!

The Long Rockin' Weekend!

My life... five straight days of fun (just great) every week, basically seated for almost eight hours, looking at the world through an 18 inch window - is actually challenging. Not. However, I'm thankful enough for their generosity. I get my share of bread every fifteen days for doing small things like lung exercises (cigarette breaks), power naps, enjoying Japanese toilet pranks in YouTube, listening to my live radio, and of course, finishing my daily task (I'm not that bored you know). Anyways, the thrills and excitement elevates when the week is finally down to Friday. It's not just a weekend, it's 'THE' weekend according to Tiffany Wilson (White Chicks).

Last weekend was filled with soooo much fun and adventures. I thought I was gone for a long time. You see, when I get to leave the apartment during weekends, it seems like time is running in slow-motion, like, "N N N O O O O O. . . g e e e t t t d duh o o ow n .." Yeah, something like that. So it's better to move your ass and hangout in good places where you can relax and chill. But when the budget refuses to cooperate, there's nothing I can do but to stay at the apartment and sleep all day. Sad. Going back to my rockin' weekend, it all started last Friday night. Of course, a brandy session with my closest friends is inevitable. It's in the blood I think, and there's no turning back once you're hooked with GranMa. The night was too young for us to say goodnight, so we called for back-up, after GranMa surrendered, GrandPa was their to the rescue, and it is much bigger, apparently. Our heads were like heavy rocks ready to roll, so we stopped talking and went straight to bed. The next day, it was the BIG day for all Erasrheads fanatics. It was their second reunion concert, since the first one was unintentionally stopped because of Ely Buendia's critical health conditions. You know what happened right? So let's proceed. I was there at the Eraserheads: Final Set 03/07/09 concvert. I was part of the national history! Kewl. I already made a post about this one so better CLICK (* *,) the smiley to view the complete details (in Tagalog). Plus, there are video clips which I took from the concert itself. But please bear with the quality. :D

Prior to the concert, my friend and I started to get things going by chillin' out in a nearby bar and resto. We ordered iced cold beer (a bucket), sizzling sisig and grilled stuffed squid. And it was 2 in the afternoon. The sun was mad and smokin' hot, but the cold drinks eased the heat. We also bought a shirt (the one shown above), it's not just a shirt, it's a special one. After finishing 4 bottles apiece, we headed back inside the mall and decided to watch the Watchmen movie. I felt sleepy when we got inside the moviehouse. The temperature and the surrounding is totally inviting for a short nap on the soft comfy seat. We really wanted to sleep! But, the story of Watchmen kept us awake because of its complex plot, disturbing fight scenes, graphic images and way too violent story. So that's what superheroes are. Sick! Anyway, let's move on to Sunday, I'm already bored typing, and I've got a task to finish. So I'll make this fast. Okay, Sunday... T'was the holy day, or the rest day, and yet, we found ourselves on the road again - this time, going to Bulacan. It was a trip intended for our future business. We had a little overview of the clothing world plus the machines we'll be needing soon. It's expensive so we need some serious planning and brainstorming before getting into this risky move. After lunchtime we rested and chilled at a place called ________, in Paranaque. Soothing! Raawwr... That's it! No digging now. HAHAHA! The eagle has landed...

Design for Potch

A good friend of mine, Potch, texted me and was asking for a little favor - if I can come up and sketch a unique tattoo design because she was totally motivated and eager to get herself inked. I said, "okay, no problem!" After 20 minutes, Potch came knocking at the door with an iced coffee and some foodies on her other hand. I really can't compose the overall elements of the design, so I asked her for some ideas. All she wanted was a "mother and child" theme because it was her baby girl, Guia, who inspired her to get this body art. I got her point instantly and I had it going on my mind. And I could use a little bit of my style to wrap the whole sketch up.

Henna Tattoos

Henna Tattoos... they look absolutely gorgeous! I know most of you are familiar with this body art. Henna or also known as Mehndi, is one of the most extraordinary forms of temporary tattoos that originated in South Asia. This isn't just a popular trend during summer... but a significant form of art during the ancient years in several South Asian territories. This is old school dude, that's why henna tattoos rock!

I've been doing henna tattoos for five years now. It has been my "raket" ever since I started doing it back in college. We had a lot of clients during university gatherings like trade fairs or 'Camp of the Tribes'. Our talent fees were quite cheap that time since it was just a fund raising activity for our department. But we were cool with that, the experience was all worth it.

Anyways, henna tattoos saved my poor rebel ass when I ran away from home three years ago. It payed the bills, the rent and somehow, I managed to afford three meals a day. Whew, it was a hard life - hard as egg! Every night, I have to be on my 'artistic mode' so that I can come up with good designs for customers. You see, I do not provide ready-to-copy designs or catalogues, rather, I make my own original design for each of my customers. I may not be an expert tattoo artist, but I am different.:D And what really makes me unique? - I use disposable fork! No fancy applicators needed. HEHE.
